HGTV and all the staging shows have resulted in every Buyer expecting your home to look like a model home.
The goal is to have your home looking each morning as if you were having company for dinner.
That’s not normal but it is necessary! Here’s a checklist that will make it easy to do these annoying but necessary tasks each morning for that day’s showings:
___ Make all beds and clear off dresser tops, put all jewellery in secure place
___ Hang up all clothes, close laundry basket lids or hide baskets in closets
___ Clear off the bathroom counters
___ Empty bathroom garbage and hide the garbage pail
___ Close shower curtains, with liner inside tub, curtain outside tub
___ Take bath mats off bathrooms floors, hang over tub wall or hide away
___ Empty kitchen catcher garbage and hide the garbage pail
___ Clear off the kitchen counters, wipe out sink, put dishwasher on to clean
___ Hide away the showing schedule and any realtors’ business cards
___ Pick up any toys, clothes, personal papers, mail: hide them away
___ Open all the blinds and shutters
___ Turn on all lights, all rooms and in basement, including floor and table lamps
___ If it is raining/snowing, put a towel by the door for the showing agent to wipe up footprints.
___ Make sure there are mats at each exit on which shoes can be left.
